A mistake many photographers make is that they attempt to photograph someone whom they have never met. The result is awkward discomfort for the client.

We will know each other before I pick up a camera. This is done through our initial consultation and our interview as we create your video.

STEP ONE: THE INTERVIEW

The experience begins with a 90 minute interview. In this interview we will ask questions that are designed to help them explain their life in seven major areas:

Childhood
High School & College
Courtship and Marriage
Career
Life Challenges That Were Overcome
Perspective the Purpose of Life
Advice to Future Generations

We have questions prepared. This list of questions can be completely customized to fit your parent's situation. You can see the list of questions by clicking the link below.

The magic, however, is in the follow-up questions. We are very good at building relationships and getting your parents to be comfortable and authentic.

We will record this interview and then professionally edit the video to focus on the experiences and wisdom that paint the best, most accurate picture of them.

STEP TWO: THE SESSION

The next step for your parent is to receive a customized portrait session. This session will be designed to match his or her character in a beautiful way. I'll show their personalities.

The goal is to authentically capture who they are. We understand that many are self-conscious about how they appear compared to when they were young. They can feel reassured that the portraits will be flattering and there is beauty in every wrinkle. Their faces are perfectly them.

Their faces paint the story of their life. They should be proud that they endured it well. Truly, they are in their prime.
